Decolorization Alumina

Unique and New
Alumina for decolorization is a specially modified, chemically treated spherical alumina that has been designed for the removal of Colored Compounds.

Efficient
The removal of color is extremely efficient. The mechanisms by which color compounds are removed are complex due to a combination of adsorption, surface complexities, chemisorption and ion-exchange. Thus the actual removal of colored compounds is quick and effective.

Functional
Alumina for decolorization particles are very durable and virtually dust-free. They can be readily packed in columns, cartridges, filtration devices and used at extremely high flow velocities. The spheres will not shrink, swell, or disintegrate in the presence of aqueous or organic solvents. It retains its physical integrity even when packed in extremely large or tall columns. The particle size distribution is 30-200u.

Broad Scope
Various organic contaminants may also be adsorbed. Thus, the color compound contaminants and organic impurities are removed simultaneously. This is ideal for Natural Products and Biotechnology compounds.

Proven
Independent tests on most color compounds have shown that efficiency for removing color has been in excess of 98% of total removal of color. However, the capacity and efficiency of Alumina for decolorization is dependent on each type of application.

Inert
Alumina for decolorization is chemically inert to most gases and vapors, and is non-toxic. Aluminas have historically been used extensively in deodorants, dentifrices, antacids, cosmetics and waste treatment.
